Carrollton, Ga. – Homecoming week is here, and a weekend full of events gets kicked off Friday October 18th, at American Pie Pizzeria, as UWG Athletics will be hosting Big Blue Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Big Blue Friday presents the chance every weekend the Wolves are at home for those in the community and around to come together to prepare for the athletic events that will be on a campus all weekend long.

The action will begin on Friday night as the West Georgia Women’s Soccer team will take on Delta State at University Field with kickoff at 5 p.m. This will be another Gulf South Conference matchup as the Wolves are now 4-5-1 overall and 2-3 in GSC play.

After the soccer game on Friday, come out and join us at Love Valley for the homecoming bonfire and pep rally. It will begin at 7 p.m. in Love Valley.

On Saturday, the Wolves will take on the 24th-ranked West Florida Argonauts who are 4-1 overall and 3-0 in GSC play.

Gameday for Homecoming will begin as the UWG Athletics Complex Opens up at 9 a.m. The Junior Wolves Fun Den will open at 12 p.m. for the kids to come out and enjoy before the game begins. At 12:30 p.m. the Wolf Walk welcomes the Wolves to the Stadium at Wolf Plaza. Ticket Booth and the stadium gates will open at 12:30 p.m. as well. The UWG Marching Band, The Sound that Lights the South will begin pregame at 1:45 p.m. and will transition into the National Anthem at 1:50 p.m. Coin toss will be at 1:55 p.m. with the Wolves taking the field at 1:57 p.m. and kickoff at 2:00 p.m. At halftime the University of West Georgia will crown the 2019 Homecoming King and Queen.

To close the weekend, on Sunday afternoon the Wolves Soccer team will take on 6th-ranked Mississippi College here at University Field for another Gulf South Conference matchup.
