CARROLLTON, Ga. – It’s a blue diamond week on campus at the University of West Georgia, as the UWG Baseball and Softball teams will have the only home events on campus this week. 

Wednesday, February 13
Baseball plays a single game against the Bobcats beginning at 3 p.m. at Cole Field. West Georgia softball will start their double header against Georgia College at 4 p.m. with the first pitch of the second game starting approximately 6 p.m.

Wolves softball kicked off their season two weeks ago in the Gulf Shores tournament, where they went 4-1. They returned to the diamond the following weekend in Clearwater, Florida, for the NFCA Tournament, where they played several ranked teams. UWG softball went 1-4, taking a win from Indianapolis in five quick innings, but falling to Tampa, Southern Arkansas, Harding, and Palm Beach Atlantic.


This Weekend on Campus
West Georgia baseball and softball will open Gulf South Conference play this weekend with a series against Shorter in Carrollton.

Softball Weekend at the UWG Athletics Complex

West Georgia baseball played their first home series the past weekend against Bellarmine going 2-1 and taking the series. Wolves beat Bellarmine 15-2 in the first game on Friday. When returning to the diamond on Saturday, they fell in the second game 8-5. UWG baseball battled back during the third game, winning in nine innings with a walk-off homerun from Logan Taylor.
