Macon, Georgia - After being off for two weeks the West Georgia Cross Country teams headed to the Mercer Invitational to run in their largest meet so far this season. Institutions from the Atlantic Sun, Peach Belt, and the Gulf South were all in attendance on Saturday morning.
The Wolves' Cross Country teams both finished 5th in their respective twenty-four team field. The Women's race was won by Jacksonville University (FL) and the Men's team winner was East Tennessee State University, both representing the Atlantic Sun Conference.
For West Georgia, freshman
Chelsa Little was the standout of the day for the Wolves as she finished 19th in a field of 156 runners and set a personal record in the 5k race, along with being the top finisher for the Women's team. The Wolves next race is Saturday, October 4th at the Auburn Invitaional.
