Morrow, Georgia - The men of the West Georgia golf team have been anxiously awaiting for the State Farm Laker Collegiate all semester, and after the opening 36 holes of the first two rounds, West Georgia is tied for 13th and finds themselves 28 strokes behind West Florida for the top spot.
The Wolves shot an opening round team score of 304, as all six players shot over par, but
Bryn Powers, playing as an individual, shot an opening round low of 73 (+1) tying him for 23rd. After the completion of day one, the Wolves made up ten (10) strokes on West Florida, and freshman
Ryan Chitwood shot a 69 for a complete score of 145, and tied for 16th.
Nelson Alvarez is tied for 38th (76-72-148), Powers is tied for 46th (73-76-149), Zach Lassatter is tied for 50th (77-73-150), Daniel Guthrie (75-81-156) and
Steve Hocker (78-84-162) round out the scoring.
