Carrollton, GA - From the parade to softball's alumni game to the big game with West Alabama at 2 p.m., the West Georgia campus will be alive with activity throughout the upcoming weekend.
Gameday Central
Saturday marks the 29th Homecoming game in the "modern" era, as the Wolves prepare to take on the West Alabama Tigers at University Stadium. In addition to the football game, there will also be a softball alumni game at the new softball field in the UWG Athletic Complex.
The home of West Georgia softball since the 2006 season has been Oil Park, located on South Street just outside of campus. Beginning with the 2010 seaon, the Wolves' new home will be as a part of the women's complex at the new UWG Athletics complex.
Construction on the new part of the athletic complex is nearly complete, and head coach Erika Swanson plans to christen her new field with the annual Alumni Game at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Those plans may change, however, as heavy rains are expected to move through the Carrollton area late Friday through Saturday morning.
