Carrollton, GA - The University of West Georgia and head coach
Skip Fite were scheduled to host an Underclassmen Showcase on December 5, 2009 at Cole Field on the West Georgia campus. This showcase is designed for any high school baseball player that desires to continue his playing career at the next level.
Due to inclement weather that is headed for Carrollton Saturday, Fite has annouced that the Showcase will be moved to Sunday.
The even will give each player the opportunity to display their skills to the UWG coaching staff as well as other area colleges. The showcase will begin with a "pro-style" workout and will conclude with a showcase scrimmage.
"This is a great avenue for high school players," said Fite. "If a player would like to continue playing baseball in college, this will be a great opportunity for them to showcase what they can do and possibly receive scholarship offers."
The deadline for registration will be December 5, 2009 or until the showcase is full. The cost is $65 and no refunds will be given. For more information, contact assistant coach Chris Moore at 678-836-4673 or via email at
