Atlanta, GA - Monday afternoon, the Fox Sports Grill at Atlantic Station was the stage for UWG head football coach Daryl Dickey, as he was the guest speaker for the Touchdown Club of Atlanta at the club's weekly luncheon meeting.

“This wa a great opportunity to talk about the wonderful things that are going on just 45 minutes west of Atlanta,” said Dickey of Monday’s appearance. “It was an honor to be invited to speak in a place that has held so many great football names.”

The Touchdown Club appearance places Dickey on an exclusive list of guest speakers to address the club this season. Others to appear this season include coaches Paul Johnson of Georgia Tech, Mark Richt of Georgia, and Auburn’s Gene Chizik. Also, media personalities such as Tony Barnhart, Bob Rathbun, and Randy Cross have been the club’s guests this season.

This week's luncheon had a decidedly University of Tennesse feel to it, as Dickey has a long history with the Volunteers and he was paired with College Football Hall of Famer and Tennessee football great Chip Kell, who played at UT under Doug Dickey, Daryl's father.

The younger Dickey began his speech by thanking the Touchdown Club and the UWG supporters who were in attendance. He then used the platform to talk about the University of West Georgia and the new facilities that are now in place in Carrollton, including University Stadium, The Coliseum, the Campus Center and brand new Greek Village to name a few.

"I am truly excited to be a part of the amazing growth at this University," Dickey said. "With the facilities we have in place, I expect to see great things out of Carrollton in the coming years."
