Carrollton, GA - The second game of the 2009-10 season will take West Georgia to one of the tougher venues in the state of Georgia when the Wolves take on the Fort Valley State Wildcats on Wednesday evening.

UWG Gameday

The Wolves (1-0) are coming off of a very successful season opener on Sunday afternoon, as UWG dispatched NAIA opponent Edward Waters with realtive ease in The Coliseum. West Georgia held the TIgers to just 15 percent shooting on the afternoon in cruising to a 64-29 victory.

"We are glad to get that one under our belt and start the season with a win," said head coach Craig Roden. "But we aren't ready yet, we still have a lot of work to do to be ready for a Gulf South Conference opponent."

The Wildcats provide some stiff competition for a revamped UWG squad. After losing to the Wolves in the season opener last year, Fort Valley reeled off 21 straight victories to close the season, falling to Ouachita Baptist 69-55 at the 2009 South Regional.
