The conference voted to begin this initiative to ensure that member schools were able to complete a full region slate in their schedules. Saturday's contest marks just the second time that UWG and the Lady Bucs have met on the court. The first meeting came in the Gulf South Conference tournament in the 2002-03 season.

That was an unlikely meeting, as West Georgia started that season at 0-8 after losing two starters to injury in the early part of the season. Head coach Craig Roden and his ladies rebounded, blasting through the second-half of their Gulf South Conference schedule to earn a trip to the tournament. After besting Southern Arkansas in the play-in game, CBU took down the Wolves by a 64-48 count in the quarterfinals.

West Georgia enters the weekend with a 1-1 record on the season after falling to Fort Valley State on Wednesday night. The Wolves struggled on the boards and at the free-throw line in that contest, losing 73-55 in the first road game of the season.

Christian Brothers also enters the afternoon battle with a 1-1 record on the year. The Lady Bucs lot the opener to LeMoyne-Owen 98-93 on Tuesday, followed by a 65-60 victory over Lane on Thursday evening.
