Carrollton, GA - West Georgia ran into a hot-hitting West Alabama team on Friday night at The Coliseum, falling 3-0 to the Tigers on the final weekend of the regular season.
The Wolves hit well as a team on the night, with
Casey Niles and
Lisa Ogide both hitting at a .417 clip. But UWA was on target, hitting .372 as a team to take the victory.
In game one, West Alabama used their potent hitting attack to build a 10-5 lead early, then coast to a 25-15 win. The second set was a similar result, as the Tiger leapt out to a 5-1 lead before West Georgia made a run.
Fueled by three kills from Ogide, the Wolves pulled to within two points at 13-11, but UWA pushed the lead right back out on the back of Jordan Kent's serving. The senior had two service aces in the game and helped put the game out of reach for the Wolves at 25-16.
In the final game, West Georgia couldn't find the stroke, collecting just eight kills to the Tigers' 15, falling by a 25-16 count.
