CARROLLTON – With the beginning of a new athletics year now less than two months away, University of West Georgia Athletics this week kick off its summer promotional tour.

The 2009 Wolves Caravan Tuesday heads to the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta for the first-of-seven stops over the next two-plus weeks. Tuesday’s stop is set for Maggiano’s Little Italy, 3368 Peachtree Road, N.E., where UWG fans, alumni and friends will gather for an evening of fun and information about the Wolves’ program.

Head football coach and interim athletic director Daryl Dickey will be the highlight speaker of the evening. Joining Dickey will be a variety of coaches and others from the Wolves’ program. This group includes assistant A.D. Eddie Duffey, who will speak on the growth and progress of the West Georgia Athletic Fund, season ticket drive for the upcoming football season, and more.

Tuesday’s Buckhead event is this week’s only scheduled stop for the Wolves Caravan. Next week, UWG will showcase its program in Marietta (Wednesday) and Duluth (Thursday). The following week finds the Caravan in Newnan, Douglasville, LaGrange and Fayetteville.
