Carrollton, GA – Much has changed for the West Georgia Wolves baseball program as they approach the start of a new season. New coach
Skip Fite is at the controls, and the team’s roster has a drastically different look than a year ago. And, for the first time in recent memory, UWG will have team captains for the coming season.
Fite Wednesday named four players to the role of captain for the 2010, following a vote by the team’s players and coaches. The group includes two returning seniors: pitcher
Cory Watts and infielder
Alex Duhaime. Also tabbed were infielders
Blake Parrot and
Michael Hornsby, both newcomers to the UWG program.
“All four of these guys are quality individuals; they work hard every day and deserve this honor," said Fite. "I’m excited about the leadership on this team and looking forward to a very good year.”
As preseason drills continue, the Wolves are less than two weeks away from their season opener. West Georgia begins the campaign on February 2 with a 2:00 p.m., contest vs. Shorter at Cole Field.
