Men's Preview
West Georgia travels to its biggest rival on Saturday night, as the postseason is on the line with the Wolves visiting The Complex at Valdosta State. The two teams are fighting for very different spots at the GSC tournament, but still fighting, nonetheless.

The Wolves come into the game at 13-13 on the season and 3-6 in the Gulf South Conference. Valdosta State is 23-3 on the year and 8-1 in the conference. West Georgia comes into the game with a chance to win and advance to the postseason after a one-year hiatus. The Blazers need a win to secure a share of the GSC East Division title.

Both teams will be keeping an eye on the game happening in Livingston, AL at the same time as the UWG VSU game. In that contest, West Alabama is hosting Alabama-Huntsville, a team that is playing their fourth game in eight days.

For West Georgia, there are two scenarios for the postseason. The first is a win over Valdosta State on Saturday.

The second is in a tiebreaker with West Alabama. Both teams are currently 3-6 with identical results against the East Division. The difference comes when looking through the schedule at common GSC opponents at common sites. The Wolves and Tigers played at Ouachita Baptist, with West Georgia winning and UWA losing, which gives UWG the tiebreaker over West Alabama.

VSU will be the opposite, looking for a win from UWA, which would give the Blazers the outright East Division title and top seed at the GSC tournament.

Women's Preview
The season finale for the 2009-10 season comes on Saturday night, as the West Georgia Wolves visit their biggest rival in the Valodsta State Lady Blazers. This meeting marks the 56th game between the two programs, with VSU holding a slight 30-25 edge in the overall series.

The two teams have been going in different directions this season, as the Lady Blazers have secured the GSC East Division title and top seed at the GSC tournament with a 9-0 record in conference play. The Wolves lost out any chance at the postseason earlier this week with a loss at Alabama-Huntsville to fall to 2-7 on the year.

The Wolves have three players who will be playing their final games in a West Georgia uniform on Saturday, led by senior forward Alexis Pace. A five-year member of the team and four-year player, Pace has been a stalwart on the front line this year, averaging just over four rebounds per game.

Renee Reece is a three-year member of the Wolves and Renate Lopez has been a solid performer in this season and last. Lopez has been one of the top sharp-shooters for the Wolves this season, hitting 44 treys at a .334 clip.
