The Wolves come into Tuesday’s game with a head of steam after Saturday’s dramatic victory over North Alabama. The Lions came out firing on all cylinders early, but West Georgia had the last laugh in a 72-68 win.
Junior guard Vojin Svilar had yet another stellar outing for the Wolves, collecting 17 points on 2-of-5 shooting from three-point range. Justin Cummings was 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and pitched in 13 points on the night.
Tuesday marks a break in conference action for the Wolves, who have taken on the likes of nationally ranked Augusta State and Arkansas Tech, currently the 12th and 1st-ranked teams in the nation. The schedule didn’t get any easier in conference play, as West Georgia also played sixth-ranked Valdosta State just last week.
Atlanta Christian College comes into Tuesday night’s game as the 13th-ranked team in the National Christian College Athletic Association, averaging 83.6 points per game on the year. That offensive number is good for fourth in the NCCAA, but their shooting percentage (42.7) is further down the list at 24th in the nation.
Up Next: West Georgia hits the road on Saturday afternoon for a return battle with West Florida. The Wolves won the first meeting earlier this season, 100-94 in overtime.
