Carrollton, GA - West Georgia originally had four games scheduled for this week, but tonigh'ts game with Georgia Southwestern has been cancelled due to the torrential rain that has swept through Carrollton over the past three days. The Wolves were originally scheduled to have a Locks of Love event in conjunction with the game, but that has been postponed until April 6 when the Wolves take on Columbus State.

West Georgia (9-14) looks to settle a score with the GSW Hurricanes, as they were swept in a doubleheader by the 'Canes two weeks ago in Americus, Ga., in two three-run losses.
Coming off a weekend that saw the Wolves take three of four from Bellarmine University, head coach Skip Fite and his team is looking to keep the momentum going as they enter upon their first weekend of Gulf South Conference play with a doubleheader at North Alabama beginning Saturday.
Hitting a torrid pace for the Wolves is senior Ben Lillis. Lillis enters Thursday with a team-leading .424 batting average to go along with 11 runs batted in. Designated hitter Michael Hornsby will be looking to start a new hitting streak, after seeing his season-opening 22 game hit streak come to end Sunday. Hornsby leads the Wolves with 32 hits on the year.
Throwing well over the weekend was starting pitcher Kegan Bailey. Bailey shut down the BU lineup on Friday, throwing 8.1 innings of five-hit ball, earning the win in the Wolves' 3-2 victory.
The Hurricanes (9-4) are entering the mid-week matchup with a five-game winning streak and a big weekend under their belts. This past weekend GSW scored 44 runs and collected 41 hits in a three game sweep of former-GSC foe Montevallo.
Causing havoc for opponents at the plate for the 'Canes is the duo of outfielders Trent Dooley and Bud Long. Dooley leads his team with a .462 batting average and 20 RBI. Long is not too far behind, swing at a .400 clip with four homeruns and 14 RBI of his own.
This will be the final meeting between the two teams of the 2010 season, as West Georgia leads the overall series by a 32-8 margin.
