Wolves crack top-5 at Berry Invitational

Rome, GA - Sarah Ross fired a 74 in the second round of the Berry College Women's Invitational on Tuesday, leading the Wolves to a fifth-place finish at the tournament. 

After a tough first-round 82, Ross came back strong in the final round, shooting a 74 to finish in a tie for fifth place in the tournament. As a team, the Wolves shaved nine strokes off of their round one total, finishing with a 331 on the second day to take a top-5 finish. 

The Wolves' second finisher at the tourney was Erynn Stewart, who put up an 82 on Tuesday, one stroke less than her first-round result. That number gave Stewart at 17th-place finish. 

Michelle Meher and Jordan Pence came in at 30th and 36th place, respectively, with Meher firing an 85 in the final round and Pence coming in with a 90.

The Wolves host the 2010 UWG Invitational next Monday and Tuesday at Mirror Lake Country Club in Villa Rica.

Day One Recap
Low scores were at a premium on Monday at the Berry College Women's Invitational.  The Wolves finished day one shooting 340 as a team, putting them just five strokes out of the fitth spot in the tournament and 22 strokes out of first with all five players ranking in the top 50 for day one.  

Sarah Ross and Erynn Stewart both occupy the 17 spot after the first day of the tournament, both  shooting an 83.  Jordan Pence wrapped up day one shooting an 86 earning herself the 25th spot for the day. 

Michelle Meher started the Invitational off with a score of 88 and finished 30th for the day. At the bottom of the score card for UWG was Lauren Giambastiani, shooting 93 for the day and finishing 48th after day one.
