Day One Recap
It was a dark and stormy day on the Lake course at the Mirror Lake Country Club for the opening round of the 2010 UWG Invitational. That didn't deter two Wolves from putting up solid numbers, as the Wolves sit in second place after the first round.
West Georgia got there on the back of a solid round from both
Ryan Chitwood and
Eric Alvarez, as the two Wolves were in first and a tie for second after the opening round. Chitwood was stellar on the day, firing a 1-over par 73 to take the lead in the tournament.
Alvarez had an equally solid round, shooting a 74 and ending the opening round in a tie for second place, as he and Montevallo's Jon Henderson were in a dead-heat just behind Chitwood.
Two other UWG golfers had a top-10 day, despite the rain, as
Eric Sharp finished his individual round with a 77, good for sixth place.
Zach Lassetter shot a 78 on the day, putting him in a tie for ninth place.
Next on the leaderboard was
