Carrollton, GA - While the athletic events were at a standstill around the West Georgia campus on Saturday afternoon, one event stood alone, as UWG President, Dr. Beheruz N. Sethna with a host of UWG soccer and softball players, dedicated the Women's Facility.

"This is a historic day, as we celebrate women's athletics at The University of West Georgia," Sethna said. "With the cutting of this ribbon, I declare this Women's Athletics Fieldhouse dedicated in the name of good sportsmanship for all future contests held on these two fields."

The Women's Athletics Fieldhouse is a part of the UWG Athletic Complex and sits between the competition soccer and softball fields. It houses meeting, locker and shower facilities for UWG soccer and softball.

West Georgia began playing soccer at the new facility on October 11, 2009. The first competition softball game was played on March 2, 2010.
