Carrollton, GA – A new era in West Georgia Athletics began last year with the opening of the UWG Athletic Complex. That new era includes a closer look at the Wolves for the fans, as West Georgia Athletics announced Tuesday the first-annual Running with the Wolves, to be held at University Stadium on August 21.
“We are excited about our facilities and our teams for this upcoming year,” said Athletic Director Daryl Dickey. “We want to give West Georgia fans the opportunity to see and meet both before the season starts.”
All of the 2010-11 athletic teams will be at University Stadium on August 21, where fans can meet and greet with players and coaches, get a tour of the stadium and get excited about the upcoming athletic year.
Running with the Wolves will begin at noon and will last approximately two hours and fans can come out, enjoy a hot dog and see what West Georgia has to offer in the coming year.
The event comes one day before the first event on campus, as the West Georgia soccer team is set to take on Emory in an exhibition match on Sunday, August 22 at 7 p.m. All home soccer matches are free to see at University Field.
