West Georgia Cheerleader
A History of Success and Greatness
The dictionary defines a 'dynasty' as: a sequence of rulers from the same family, stock, or group.
The Universal Cheerleading Association might have a shorter, simpler definition: The University of West Georgia.
UWG has seen success in both the Coed and the All-Girl competitions over the past seven years at the UCA's National College Cheerleading Championship. The Coed squad's has won an incredible seven (7) titles, in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. Futher the Coed squad's seven titles in a row is only out done by the University of Kentucky's Coed team's eight titles in a row at the Division I level.
Not to be left out is the UWG All-Girl squad, who lays claim to four (4) titles, in 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2007.
The squads also generate vocal support and significant enthusiasm for some of the finest athletic programs in the nation. The Wolves Men's and Women's basketball programs are two of the premier programs in the Gulf South Conference, both making routine trips to the NCAA Division II tournament.
On the UWG campus, UWG cheerleaders are some of the finest athletes in the University's sports programs, as intelligent and outgoing students in the classroom, and as public relations ambassadors of the University of West Georgia.
