West Georgia Cheerleading
A History of Success and Greatness
A brand new year is underway and the West Georgia Cheerleading program has more to prove than ever before. The University of West Georgia cheerleading program is known for their clean routines and 12 UCA Division II National Championships. Both Teams are setting their goals to bring home the hardware together once again. After last year's defeat, the teams are more determined than ever.

The Coed Squad has many new faces this year with talent from great all-star programs, various Georgia high schools and junior colleges. UWG Coed will be relying on key leadership roles from veteran cheerleaders such as Brian Nichols and Gennah Duclo. Coach Scottie Brown, a former University of Kentucky and West Georgia cheerleader, is looking forward to the road ahead with his young squad.

A new coach, Gabe Delgado, has stepped in this year for the all-girl program. Delgado is no stranger to UWG, as he cheered for five years on UWG Coed, winning five consecutive UCA National Championships. Since 2007, Delgado has remained Carrollton, assisting with both teams along the way. UWG All-Girl has won four UCA National Championships in the past seven years and the squad has charted a course to reclaim the title once again. The team will rely on key leadership from veteran cheerleaders Kelsey Jones, Kaci Eady, Katie McMahon, Kristi Phillips and Ashley Stone.

Both teams attended UCA College Camp at the University of Tennessee, coming back to the UWG sideline with new skills and material for the 2010-11 campaign. The Wolves return for the second year in University Stadium and are eager to cheer on Head Coach Daryl Dickey and his determined football team. In November, the focus turns to The Coliseum and Head Coach Mike Cooney and Scott Groninger's basketball squads.

All in all, it appears to be business as usual in Carrollton and the Wolves are preparing to fight their way back to the top of the Division II world.
